A Milestone Achievement of the INAU Bioacoustic Field Research Project: Two Continuous Annual Cycles Completed

End of October the CO.BRA field team successfully finished one of the major data sampling goals of the northern Pantanal automated bioacoustic research project: the completion of two annual cycles of soundscapes (one cycle taken at an ecotourism lodge and one from a protected area). Most likely this is the first time in the history of automated bioacoustic data assessment that a continuous annual recording schedule in real time was maintained. The data and metadata collected (over 100 TB) will now be analysed in our laboratories in in Cuiaba, Brazil (UFMT), Bonn, Germany (ZFMK), and Varna, Bulgaria (TU Varna), according to the annual activities of key avian and anuran species.
