Joachim Adis Award for Interdisciplinary
Tropical Ecology

During the Latin America Symposium on Landscape Ecology and Biogeography held in November 29-30, 2013 at the Zoological Research Museum Alexander Koenig (ZFMK), Bonn, Germany, Prof. Dr. Todor Ganchev, University of Varna, Bulgaria, and Dr. Olaf Jahn, ZFMK, were awarded with the International Joachim Adis Award for Tropical Ecology. The laudatio for both scientists, presented during a special ceremony of honour, was held by Prof. Dr. Marinêz Isaac Marques, Federal University of Mato Grosso, member of the Adis-Award Committee.
Special congratulation messages for the prize-winners were received from the auspices Prof. Dr. Klaus Töpfer, former Federal German Minister of Environment and Nuclear Technology and Prof. Dr. Paulo Teixeira de Sousa Junior, Director of the Brazilian National Institute for Wetland Science and Technology (INAU), Cuiabá, Mato Grosso.
